Swift Said is a Taylor Swift quotes app. It does not require an account, does not collect contact information, and does not use third-party analytics or advertising SDKs. This page describes the small amount of data the app does send to our server, and why.
Swift Said generates an anonymous device identifier (Apple's Identifier for Vendor) the first time you launch the app. This identifier is not your name, email, phone number, Apple ID, or any other personal information. It is an opaque string used solely to keep your liked quotes synced across launches and to ensure your contribution to the public like count is only counted once per device.
When you tap the heart on a quote, two things happen. First, the quote is saved locally on your device. Second, the quote ID is sent to our server (a Cloudflare Worker we operate) along with your anonymous device identifier, so we can keep your favorites consistent if you reinstall and so we can show an accurate aggregate like count to other fans. We do not log IP addresses, request bodies, or any device characteristics beyond what is required for the request to function.
The like count shown on each quote card is an aggregate of taps from all devices. This number is not tied to any individual user. We do not use these counts for anything beyond the social-proof display in the app.
Your saved favorites, scroll position, onboarding state, and chosen app icon are stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData and UserDefaults frameworks. This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to any server.
Swift Said does not require or offer account creation. There is no sign-up, no login, and no user profiles.
Swift Said does not include any third-party analytics SDKs, advertising frameworks, or cross-app tracking tools. We do not track how often you open the app, which quotes you read, or how you use the app beyond the like-count signal described above.
Swift Said contains no advertisements and no ad-related SDKs.
Settings → Your Data → Delete all my data permanently removes your liked quotes from your device and from our server. Your contribution to each affected aggregate like count is reversed at the same time. There is no waiting period; the deletion is immediate and irreversible.
Swift Said is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children. The app's age rating reflects occasional mild language in some quotes (faithful to the original sources).
If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will update the effective date at the top of this page.
