Every quote ships with a real source. The corpus is curated from interviews, speeches, essays, and on-record moments — not aggregated Tumblr posts or quote-graphic Pinterest boards. Tap any card to flip it and see the publication, date, and a tap-through link to the original wherever possible.
Long-press your home screen until the icons jiggle, tap the + in the top corner, search Swift Said, and pick a size. Tap "Edit Widget" to lock the widget to a specific era, or leave it on All Eras to rotate through every era's quotes. Lock screen widgets are added through Customize → Lock Screen instead.
iOS doesn't offer a full-width lock screen widget. The widest below-the-clock option is the Rectangular widget, which fills half the row. To fill the whole row, add another rectangular widget alongside it. The Inline variant is full-width but text-only and lives above the clock.
Settings → Personalize → App Icon. Pick from 14 era-themed designs plus a Lucky 13 alternate.
Tap the heart on any quote to save it to your favorites and add to the public like count. Your favorites are kept in sync across launches via an anonymous device identifier. There are no profiles or accounts; the like count you see is an aggregate of taps from all devices.
Settings → Your Data → Delete all my data. This permanently removes your liked quotes from your device and from our server, and reverses your contribution to each affected like count. The deletion is immediate and cannot be undone.
Settings → Help → Suggest a quote, or email swift-said@lavailabs.com with the quote text and what you think the correct version or source is. We take this seriously — getting it right is the whole point of the app.
The corpus skews toward eras with more publicly-available primary-source material — long-form interviews, on-record speeches, self-authored essays. Earlier eras have less of that on the public web than recent ones. We add quotes with every app update as more verified material surfaces.
Lyrics are owned by the artist's record label and publisher, and reproducing them requires a license we don't have. Swift Said is intentionally quote-only.
Yes. The full quote corpus is bundled with the app, so browsing, reading, saving, and sharing all work without a network connection. Likes you tap while offline are saved locally and sync to the server the next time the app launches with a connection.
No. Swift Said is an unofficial fan app. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Taylor Swift, her management, or her record labels. All quotes are reproduced under fair-use principles for commentary, criticism, and education, with attribution to the original source.
Swift Said is a one-time purchase. No subscriptions, no in-app purchases, no ads.
Swift Said is the first in a planned franchise. Other artists are in the queue. Drop us a note at hello@lavailabs.com if you want to vote for who's next.
