Questions, bug reports, a word that should be in the dictionary, or one that shouldn't: wordos@lavailabs.com
If a definition, clue or relationship reads wrong, tell us the word. Fixes ship in the next update.
A word has to fit your RAM: with 5-letter RAM, a 6-letter word waits until you buy more. Plurals and other forms compile as their base word, so CATS runs as CAT. Words that aren't in the dictionary say NOT A WORD, and profanity says CENSORED.
A request ([!] WANTED) asks for any word in a category before its timer runs out. Fill it with a word you think of yourself for a bonus, or tap it for a clue. A clue ([?]) points to one exact word that links with, or evolves, something on your board. Tap a clue to read it in full.
Your programs, bytes, RAM and offers reset, and you earn kernel points to spend on permanent upgrades. Your codex, kernel upgrades, achievements and themes stay. Each run goes faster than the last.
Yes, for up to an hour at first, and longer once you upgrade UPTIME in the kernel. A welcome-back line in the log tells you what they earned.
wordOS is free for your first three reboots. One purchase unlocks unlimited reboots for good. Your current run keeps going either way; there are no ads, subscriptions or timers. Settings has RESTORE PURCHASE for a new device or a reinstall.
Your codex, upgrades and settings sync through iCloud when you're signed in on both devices. You can also export a save file from Settings and import it elsewhere.
wordOS keeps dated backups on your device, which you can restore from Settings. Once the app is deleted they're gone, and nothing is stored on our side, so export your save if it matters to you.
Yes. Settings has CRT effects (full, reduced or off), text size, sound and hum volume, and haptics. wordOS also follows Reduce Motion.
Always. The whole dictionary ships inside the app.
